Job Title: Procurement Officer

Job Overview

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating purchase terms, ensuring the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in purchasing raw materials and consumables in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, particularly in water/beverage production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure raw materials, packaging materials (e.g., preforms, caps, labels), and
    equipment required for water production.
  • Evaluate and manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely
    deliveries.
  • Raise purchase orders and ensure compliance with the organization’s procurement
    policies.
  • Monitor stock levels and work closely with the inventory team to avoid shortages or
    overstocking.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Track market trends, identify alternative suppliers, and recommend cost-saving strategies.
  • Ensure that all goods received meet the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production, finance, and warehouse teams to coordinate procurement
    schedules and inventory planning.
  • Oversee account opening, documentation, KYC compliance, and record-keeping
    processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply
    Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a procurement role, preferably in a water, beverage,
    or FMCG production environment.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, supply contracts, and cost control.
  • Good understanding of stock management and demand planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement/inventory software.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CIPSMN) is an added advantage.
