Job Overview
The Chief Security Officer will oversee all aspects of security operations across the organisation’s
locations. The role includes risk assessment, policy development, personnel supervision, incident
management, and collaboration with law enforcement. The ideal candidate should have a
military, paramilitary, or corporate security background with a strong understanding of modern
security systems and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy to safeguard people, properties, and information.
- Coordinate security personnel across all facilities and supervise both in-house and contracted security staff.
- Monitor and control access to facilities and ensure security protocols are consistently enforced.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, security audits, and emergency drills.
- Lead investigations of security breaches, incidents, or suspicious activities and prepare detailed reports.
- Liaise with government agencies, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
- Install, maintain, and monitor security systems including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.
- Provide training and awareness programs to staff on personal safety, emergency response, and theft prevention.
- Monitor compliance with security-related regulatory standards (e.g., NDPR, NPF directives).
- Prepare and manage the security budget and ensure cost-effective security operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Security Management, or a related field.
- Retired military/police officer or security professional with verifiable experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in corporate or industrial security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of physical security systems, access control, and emergency response planning.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and leadership.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Certification in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in writing security reports, risk assessments, and incident logs.
