Job Title:Bakery Manager

Job Overview

The Bakery Manager will oversee the daily production, staff management, inventory control, customer service, and quality assurance of all bakery operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of bakery production, team coordination, and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all daily bakery activities, including production, packaging, and customer service.
  • Ensure the consistent quality, freshness, and presentation of all baked goods.
  • Develop new recipes and seasonal menu items in collaboration with the head baker or pastry chef.
  • Manage a team of bakers, decorators, and support staff scheduling, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Oversee inventory management, stock ordering, and supplier relationships to avoid shortages or wastage.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards (e.g., NAFDAC, HACCP).
  • Monitor sales, costs, and profitability, and implement cost-control strategies.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain bakery equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to promote the bakery’s products and expand customer base.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or OND in Food Technology, Hospitality
    Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of bakery experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of bakery production processes, ingredients, and techniques.
  • Good leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
  • Good communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Experience with inventory software, POS systems, and basic financial reporting.
  • Creative mindset with attention to product innovation and customer preferences.
